Live · updates every few seconds
Tractive is the companion app for Tractive GPS trackers: live position, location history, and an alert the moment your pet crosses the boundary you drew.
Read this first — the app is free, but it only does anything with a Tractive GPS tracker on the collar and an active subscription plan.

How it works
No app can find a pet using your phone alone. Tractive works because a small GPS unit clips to the collar and reports its position over the mobile network. The app is the window onto that device, and the app is free — the tracker and the data plan are what you pay for.
Once it is on the collar you get live position, history of where the animal has been, virtual fences with entry and exit alerts, and daily activity and rest figures. A close-range mode helps when you know the pet is nearby but hiding.
STEP 01
Cat, dog or XL model, depending on the animal's size and how long you need the battery to last.
STEP 02
The subscription pays for the cellular connectivity that makes location work outside your home.
STEP 03
Install the app, pair the device, draw your safe zone, and the alerts start on their own.
Inside the app
Position updates every few seconds while live mode is on, with unlimited range wherever the network reaches.
The routes your pet took and the spots they keep going back to.
Mark the house or yard as safe, get an alert when your pet leaves it and again when they return.
Narrows down the tracker when the animal is somewhere close but out of sight.
Daily activity totals and sleep patterns, with goals set per animal.
A partner, family member or sitter sees the same live map you do.
Is it worth it
No. Without the hardware there is nothing to locate.
Yes. The trackers need an active plan for cellular connectivity. Prices vary by region — check Tractive's own site for current figures.
No. It uses cellular networks, so it is not limited to your home network's range.
Depends on the model and how heavily live tracking is used. The manufacturer quotes several days for cat trackers and longer for dog and XL models.

The app is free on both stores. You can create the account and get familiar with the map before the device even arrives.
